To make matters worse, unemployment rates are increasing among young graduates, extreme poverty is rising, and aid is declining. Power outages in the besieged Gaza Strip can last up to 20 hours a day, threatening the lives of many patients in hospitals.
ince their asylum in Lebanon more than seventy years ago, the Palestinian people have been living in extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, whether in the camps or the Palestinian gatherings outside the camps. Deprivation and oppression have affected all sectors and levels.
In the professional sector: Palestinian refugees are prohibited from practicing more than 21 professions, or from joining any union, under penalty of legal accountability.
In the real estate sector: Palestinian refugees are deprived of their right to purchase and own any property in Lebanon.
In the education sector: Palestinian students are deprived of the right to decent education, as UNRWA schools are constantly experiencing declining budgets and are already suffering from a great deal of pressure in the number of students.
In the health sector: Palestinians in Lebanon suffer from a significant shortage of medical and advisory services, especially with the reduction of UNRWA services.
In the social sector: Many Palestinians, especially young people, are scattered around the world, leaving their relatives in Lebanon due to unemployment, oppression, and the harsh conditions they suffer from.
